Long, long ago in the Caribbean, there lived a clever spider called Anansi. Anansi loved collecting wisdom — small bits of knowledge he found everywhere.
One day, Anansi decided to gather ALL the wisdom in the world and put it in a big clay pot. He climbed to the top of a tall palm tree to hide it.
But the pot was very heavy! Anansi's little son Ntikuma watched from below and called up: 'Papa! Why don't you tie the pot to your BACK instead of your front? It will be easier to climb!'
Anansi stopped. His little son was right! He had gathered ALL the wisdom... and yet his child knew something HE did not!
Anansi realised that no one person can have ALL the wisdom. Wisdom is meant to be SHARED! So he tipped the pot and let the wisdom fall down for everyone.
And that is why, to this day, wisdom is found everywhere — in books, in elders, in children, and in nature. Always share what you know!
Wisdom should be shared, not hoarded. We can learn from everyone — even children!
